4 Perfect Excuses to Travel Abroad

Traveling

27 Sep

If you are sitting at work dreaming of where your next trip abroad might take you, or need an excuse to take a break, then this list may be of help. Here are four top excuses you can use to get yourself on a plane and on a beach somewhere warm, soaking up the sun for a few weeks, or maybe even longer.

  • Attending a Wedding

Being invited to a wedding that is in a different country is probably one of the most exciting excuses to jump on a plane and head abroad. Usually, people who choose to have their wedding abroad are hosting it in an exotic or luxurious location. Many guests that are attending a wedding abroad often choose to extend their stay and tag a vacation on before or after the wedding has taken place.

The other alternative is to host your own wedding overseas. Of course, it can be a logistical headache if you have a large number of people attending but much like if you were attending a wedding, you could tag your honeymoon onto the end too for an extra few weeks.

  • Taking a Gap Year

Trying to choose your future career straight after you leave school can be stressful, and it takes some time for people to work out what they want to do. A lot of students now choose to do their traveling before making such as big, life-changing decision and it’s a great excuse to see the world and consider your options.

As well as booking a trip yourself or with your friends, there are organizations like Frontier Gap Years who provide a range of different packages that you can book onto straight away. Many of them have different activities that you can do, including conservation and volunteering while on a gap year.

  • Vacation with Friends

Before you have any real responsibility in the adult world, such as having kids or buying a house, taking a vacation with friends is a great excuse to go abroad and have some fun. Most young adults may have only been away with parents, and the experience of going it alone with a bunch of friends is pretty exciting.

Depending on how much you want to spend and where you want to go, usually a week away in a hot destination over the summer is the top choice for a friend-only vacation.

  • You Haven’t Been Abroad for Years

One of the best excuses for treating yourself to a getaway abroad is because you haven’t been away for years. Work commitments and social commitments can get in the way of being able to have a stress-free break on a perfect beach somewhere and making time for yourself to get away is important.

If you can’t get away for a week abroad, then even just a city break over a long weekend can be enough to refresh your motivation. If you enjoy nature, then a cottage by the sea might be the perfect choice for you.
