3 Ways To Make Your Next Big Business Presentation A Success

Business

23 Jun

If you have a big presentation coming up at work, it can be both exciting and terrifying to prepare for this. In most cases, a big presentation means a big opportunity is presenting itself. But at the same time, if you don’t do as well as you’d like, or as well as your bosses may be expecting, this presentation could also have some negative consequences for you. And with all this pressure, it’s easy to feel nervous. Luckily, there are things that you can do to give yourself the best chance of success.

To help you see how this can be done, here are three ways to make your next big business presentation a success.

Let Your Personality Shine Through

One of the best things that you can do in a business presentation is to let your personality shine through. Especially if you’re trying to get people to believe in you or convince them to give you and your business a shot, showcasing your own personality can make a huge difference for your presentation.

A great way to accomplish this is to pick one person in your presentation audience and pretend like you’re speaking directly to them. For most people, it’s easier to be himself when they are in one-on-one situations. So if this resonates with you, focusing on just one person can help you feel a bit more comfortable and help your presentation be more like a conversation than a lecture.

Use The Right Supporting Materials Correctly

In many presentations, you’re going to be using supporting materials to help get your point across and share your message. However, while these materials can be extremely helpful, they can also be harmful to your presentation if you don’t use them right.

As a good rule of thumb, you don’t want to just restate everything that you are showing through your supportive materials. Rather, use these materials to go into the details while you stay more “big picture” with what you’re saying. And if you’re going to use something like a dry erase board, make sure you keep talking while using it and don’t turn your back on your audience too much.

Be Vulnerable Yet Confident

When giving a presentation, it can be hard to know how to present yourself in a way that people will connect with yet find endearing. Something you can try is to be confident while also being vulnerable.

To accomplish this, consider sharing that you have some nerves right at the beginning of your presentation. People will automatically relate to you and want you to succeed, regardless of what you’re presenting. Then, try to be as confident as you can when sharing the rest of your presentation and answering questions.

If you really want and need your next big business presentation to be a success, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you see how this can be accomplished.
