Jack Elway on the Health Benefits for Men in Playing Football

Blog

26 Jul

Those who want to play football professionally have to meet a number of physical and psychological characteristics, according to Jack Elway. They must be agile, have endurance, be able to handle stress, and have excellent footwork. However, even those who will never get to the professional levels, or who may not even want to, can enjoy the health benefits of taking part in this game. Of course, football is also a rough game so only those who feel able to sustain injuries should consider taking part in it.

The Health Benefits of Football According to Jack Elway

  1. It increases overall aerobic capacity. There is a lot of running involved in this game and that requires you to build up your stamina. A good player can literally run for hours and not be exhausted.
  2. It improves the health of your heart. During one game, you can easily run five miles and that means your heart has to have the capacity to pump blood all the time. Those who play football tend to have far greater cardiovascular strength, therefore.
  3. It burns body fat and builds muscle tone. Playing football is a fantastic full body workout that will make you look incredibly toned. It also builds your muscle strength. A lot of the work done during football match warm ups is about building strength. Having a strong body is having a healthy body.
  4. It improves the strength of your bones. This is why it could be a good idea for older people to play football, although they should play with others of similar capacity because they would more than likely break their bones should they play with younger people.
  5. It improves coordination. Being able to run, see where your teammates are, hold and throw a ball, dodge the competition, and more, requires a great deal of coordination.
  6. It teaches you about sharing and about teamwork. In fact, this is one of the reasons why all parents should encourage their sons to take part in football from an early age, as it teaches them to work together and to build true and lasting friendships.
  7. It improves the functioning of the brain. This is due to numerous reasons, including better physical health and the fact that you have to think on your feet. When playing a team sport, both your body and your mind are in constant motion and that keeps you healthy.
  8. It builds confidence and self esteem. This is one of the reasons why kids who are bullied or who lack confidence for other reasons are encouraged to take part in a team sport. It builds discipline and a community, while at the same time enabling kids to feel proud of their achievements and something that they do.
  9. It leaves you more flexible. You would be surprised at how flexible a professional football player is, even when they are wearing their full gear. That is because of the way they move, the sudden lunges, twists, and turns they have to make, and their stamina and endurance. A flexible body is a strong body and a healthy body.
