Best Fitness Options When You’re Time Constrained

Blog· Healthy· Lifestyle· Successful

Not everyone has a couple of hours to go to the gym a few times a week. Driving there, finding a space to park and hot-footing it to the workout class is time you often don’t have. There’s just too much to fit in after work has finished for the day. However, when fitness or losing weight is still a priority for you, you must find a way to make it happen within the confines of the time you have available.

Here are a few suggestions for fitness options when you’re heavily time constrained.

Put a Rowing Machine in Your Basement, Garage, or Spare Bedroom

A rowing machine is an excellent piece of equipment to provide a good workout come rain or shine. You don’t need to put on your sweats and get ready for the gym, plan your route, drive there, and reach the gym to get started. All that wasted time is removed entirely. Buying and installing a rowing machine in your basement, garage, or spare bedroom allows you to put in a rowing session whenever you like. It can be a 10-minute routine or a half-hour of total dedication. It’s entirely up to you and the time you have available.

Modern rowing machines come with many program settings to run through different routines and adjust the difficulty and the resistance level to vary how hard it pushes your arms and legs. It’s much more of an all over body workout than most people associate with rowing. Visit RowingReviewshubcom.com to learn more about the fitness benefits of this activity.

Don’t Discount Walking or Running Around the Block

You can buy and install a treadmill in your home, but there’s usually plenty of good places to go walking or jogging in your local area. Is there a park nearby that’s friendly to runners? Or perhaps a walking route that provides some visually interesting scenery? Taking a collection of podcasts or an audio recording of a new book on your smartphone with a pair of earbuds is a great way to push through a walk or jogging session and pack more value into it too. You start exercising when you get to your pathway and you don’t stop until you get back home. It’s extremely time efficient and it’s outdoors, which is great if you’re stuck in the office all day.

Yoga at Home

If you don’t have time to get to a yoga class, pull out your mat, lay it out and begin, you can practice at home. If you need some direction, there are plenty of excellent Yoga-themed YouTube channels to provide either inspiration or a different routine to follow with each video clip. Also, this is one of the least expensive fitness/health related activities you can take up. All you need is an inexpensive mat, some suitable clothing to feel comfortable in, and a half hour of focused time to get into it.

Being time constrained doesn’t have to be an impediment to fitting a workout into your daily routine. A commercial gym isn’t always the answer either. Creating your own fitness solutions from home is often best for people who don’t have time to waste and who are looking to have a healthy lifestyle.
